The hike from Dana to Petra is the crown jewel of the Jordan trail, this hike was recently named by National Geographic as one of the fifteen best hikes in the world, hiking through one of Jordan’s best and most scenic nature reserves (Dana Reserve). If the natural attractions aren’t enough, the route ends with Nabatean masterpiece , Petra the city in the rocks, one of the Middle East most iconic sights . It’s truly world class hike.

Dana Village to Wadi Malaga

Day one takes you down the sandstone cliffs of Dana Village through the long valley of Wadi Dana . It’s biologically diverse area and a historically important one , too you’ll pass ancient copper mines (earliest copper mines in the world) before you arriving Wadi Malaga where we will spend first night.

Day 2

Wadi Malaga to Ris Alfad

Distance: 16 KM

The next day we will follow the open valley of wadi Malqa to Ras alfad, passing local Bedouins family along the way , overlooking Wadi Araba desert , reaching Ras Al-Fayd spring, a narrow canyon and then to the camping site.

Day 3

Ris Alfad to Little Petra

Distance: 23 KM

The third day, from Ras al-Fayd to the towering Sharah Mountains, where there is calm and beautiful views, passing through an ancient Nabataean village and seeing many overlooks, arriving at the Little Petra site , visiting this ancient place then to our Bedouin camp where we will spend this night there.
